COLOUR OF MALAYSIA (part I)

I never imagine that I will have my college at Malaysia

But here I am now….

All of it seemed new to me, this is my first time enter the world of lectures.

Live in another country, try to know other cultures, meet people who have different type of culture with me…

Actually it’s not a big deal for me to adapt with the existing culture in Malaysia. Malaysia’s culture is almost the same with my country culture. Malaysia and Indonesia have much in common, though both are brothers.

But still there are some differences in it.

From my point of view, Malaysia is one of the unique states. There are several of various ethnic groups in Malaysia. No need to surround all parts of Malaysia, just in my own college. Every step we take, we will see so many types of interest here. Starting from the tribe of Chinese, Indian tribes, and tribal Melayu. Based on the information that I got from the internet, they are three main people groups in Malaysia.

There are also varieties of language that used in Malaysia, that language is Malay, Chinese, Tamil and English. Although Malay is an official language, English is widely spoken by the Malaysian. English is a compulsory subject in the school. Many universities in Malaysia have been using English as the language of teaching and learning mediator. The tribe of Chinese in Malaysia is using to Chinese or Cantonese to communicate with each other. The Indian uses Tamil.

So than that, when u visit Malaysia do not take care about the language.  Two international languages have been mastered by most of Malaysians.

For the problem of foods, u do not need to worry, so many types of food can u get here. From Chinese food, Indian food, Malay food, Western food, Japanese food, Korean food, etc.

Some food that u have to taste when u are visiting Malaysia is:

1.Nasi kandar

You can find this type of food in the Mamak Stores; it is an Indian food store. Serve this dish with the tarik. For the appetizer, u may have roti canai or roti telur or roti tissue. U really have to try this food

2.Nasi lemak

          This food is widely eaten in Malaysia. This is a national heritage of              Malaysia. It become our good friend in the morning, it’s great to have its as our breakfast. Usually it served with rending or fried chicken and ikan bilis and egg.

3.Char koey tiao

This is one of the most favorite foods in Malaysia. Koey tiao is a kind of flat rice noodles. Char koey tiao is mean fried flat noodle. It is very quick and easy to serve. The most popular char koey tiao is the penang char koey tiao.

4. Penang Assam Laksa

Assam laksa is one type of Malaysia noodles. It’s a kind of soup noodle. In the soup there are ikan kembong (mackerel fish) or shrimp, cutting cucumber, lettuce leaves, red onions, chilies.

LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIP

It’s become a big deal when u are doing the long distance relationship (LDR)…..

There are so many challenges that u face…. 

When u are at here but ur partner is in another place, both of u are separated with the place, time, zone…

No often a couple can stand with this relationship, we often heard that a relationship end because the distance thing. But should we always end our relationship just because the distance thing???? I believe that u don’t want this thing happen to u… 

A distance will not make a difference

Here are some tips that can help u to defend the LDR:

1.    COMMITMENT

A commitment is an important point for u to defend ur relationship. When u make a commitment, u have made a promise…

A promise is nothing without the action, when u promise to be devoted, u have to act to be devoted too…

Sometime a commitment can give u strength to face the challenges ahead… Maybe u will have a quarrel with our partner, but with the commitment that u n ur partner have made, it will give u a passion to handle these conditions…

 Remember that you're still in a relationship…

2.     COMUNICATION

Communicate in some way every day, more than once if possible.

Tell each other about your little things that happen with u or ur environment. Ask for advice. Use an instant messenger program like yahoo messager, facebook, MSN for real-time chat, or web cams . E-mail is great thing to do, especially for long distance relationship, talking on the phone will probably spend a lot of pulses.

One thing to remember, a communication between u and ur partner isn’t a communication because there is a spare time, but u have to provide a special time to communicate.

3.      TRUST

Trust is sth that is difficult for us to get it, when u have gained that trust, u have to defend it.

When u live a long distance relationship, trust is a key which u should have. Without the TRUST will be difficult for u to defend the LDR.

Try to give a confidence to ur partner, it may make him/her feel valued.

But u have to remember to not believe in him/ her just. Believe it not only with heart; let ur logic is also running.

4.     SELF CONTROL

Avoid jealousy and be trusting.

When you start a long distance relationship, you must be realistic of the difficulties ahead. As a girlfriend/boyfriend, our partner need an understanding from u, don’t always perform at our interrogation every time he/she decides to go out for a drink with people you haven't met or he/she didn't get back to you right away when you called and left a message.

Just because you are in a long-distance relationship doesn't mean your lives will pause. Your partner has a social life where he/she lives and so should you. You should both maintain your social activity and always be happy with yourselves.

Be positive thinker.

don't always think a negative part of sth.

A negative thinking dont give us any advantage, it just can give the horrible day of ur relationship.Being away from your sweetie is not a bad thing.

Think positive...
The LDR may teach u to be more creative in ur relationship, u have to think the new style of communicate...

5.     TRUST IN GOD

There is nothing without the hand of God working.

A relationship that is not acceptable for the eyes of God is just a mere futility.

Pray for ur relationship, ask the Lord whether he/she is ur life partner or not.

LET GOD WORK ON UR RELATIONSHIP…

There’s no uniform at all

I am free to wear any clothes that I like

Everything is great for me

Welcome to TAYLOR’S UNIVERSITY COLLEGE

At the first, I thought that study at Malaysia and live in Malaysia is not a big deal. But, when I start to live here, seem that all things is not as easy as what I think. But, all of these things is challenging. I have to do all things by myself. Try to manage my time and money. Have my own room. It’s awesome. I learn to accept the culture at here, meet a lot of people from another country, and have new friends. Facing the new level of my life.

Come in to the college is like start writing on the new page of ur life. Write about how ur college like. How big is it, how its like. It is a lakeside campus, surrounded with 9 levels buildings. The class is facilitating with AC, projector, and speaker. The world-class campus man…

The second page, u start to write about your first class. You meet new friends, ur lectures, the style of teaching between teacher and lecture is different. Talking about classmate, everybody have his or her own special part. There is one who always wearing headset, one whom like to talk much, and one whom talks less but inside him or her have a great idea. This showed how creative our God is, He give every man his or her characteristic.  This life is so unique.

The next page, u will write about how ur life is changing. When u are in high school, u are supposed to wake up early in the morning, enter the class before the bell was ringing, but in college life, u are free to sleep whenever u like and sometimes u have an afternoon class, u don’t have to wake up early. Seem our life is getting worst day-by-day…Hahahahhaa…

In the end of ur writing, u will write about how wonderful ur life is. Apart of life that never will u forget. U will miss this time one day later. Enjoy ur life…
